DMCA / Copyright Policy

On Your Terms respects intellectual property rights and expects users to do the same. We respond to clear and complete notices of alleged copyright infringement under the U.S. Digital Millennium Copyright Act ("DMCA", 17 U.S.C. § 512) and equivalent laws in other jurisdictions.

1. Notice of alleged infringement

To submit a takedown notice, email dmca@onyourterms.app with the following:

  1. A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or authorized agent.
  2. Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to be infringed.
  3. Identification of the material claimed to be infringing, with enough detail to locate it (URL, account, screenshots).
  4. Your name, mailing address, telephone number, and email.
  5. The statement: "I have a good faith belief that use of the material in the manner complained of is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law."
  6. The statement, under penalty of perjury: "The information in this notification is accurate, and I am the copyright owner or am authorized to act on the owner's behalf."

Incomplete notices may not be actionable.

2. Counter-notice

If you believe your content was wrongly removed, you may submit a counter-notice including:

  1. Your signature.
  2. Identification of the removed material and its prior location.
  3. The statement, under penalty of perjury: "I have a good faith belief that the material was removed as a result of mistake or misidentification."
  4. Your name, address, phone, and email, plus a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal court for the judicial district where you live (or the District of Delaware if outside the US) and accept service from the original complainant.

If we receive a valid counter-notice and the original complainant does not file a court action within 10–14 business days, we may restore the material.

3. Repeat infringers

We terminate accounts of users who are repeat infringers under appropriate circumstances.

5. Misrepresentations

Section 512(f) makes it unlawful to knowingly materially misrepresent infringement or removal. You may be liable for damages.
